Covington is dedicated to revitalizing its central business district and making the city center as vivacious as it once was: a forum for public gathering and the civic heart for the entire City.
Renaissance Covington, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit mission-driven organization. The goal is to make downtown economiccally viable by capitalizing on our rich stock of historic buildings while identifying ways to meet the needs of our contemporary society. Renaissance Covington aims to revitalize the City's designated renaissance area through synergistic community partnerships, starting with our Board of Directors who represent our multifaceted City. To get people interested in downtown, Renaissance Covington focuses on the Main Street Four-Point Approach, which includes downtown design, promotion, organization, and economic revitalization. This four-point strategy has been proven nationwide to attract people downtown while encouraging renovation and preservation of buildings. Renaissance Covington plans to do all of these things through continual community involvement and a public-private-grassroots partnership from which it has sprung.
